Hobi Hobbit sends family!

Sunday morning we awoke to instructions to be at a certain location for Brunch.
When we arrived we ran into the CHRISTIANSENS from Utah!

How does the Hobi Hobbit do it?

We enjoyed spending the day with them.

They were in San Diego attending a Teachers Convention.

Grandma Kathy said she received a note from a Hobbit to go there for lunch too.

Wipe Out!

We visited the Beach after meeting family for lunch. We didn't "prepare" for the beach.
Jennica and Jarom ran right out to greet it. Before I could even warn her, Jennica went under!
It was scary at first but very funny after.

Meltdown

It is obvious we are NOT in Connecticut anymore!

We’ve enjoyed the warmth of California. Yesterday we did our best considering the three hour time difference and serious lack of sleep. (Meltdown #1)

We went to an IMAX movie theatre and watched Monsters vs. Aliens with 3D glasses. Wow! That was carzy. I loved the effects but didn’t enjoy the movie.

We ended the day with Pete cooking fantastic Ribs! Yum!

This morning we woke up with more from the Hobi Hobbit.
He left the kids Easter baskets with tickets to an Easter Egg Hunt this afternoon, and some fun little Easter eggs of our own to hide.

It’s SUN, SUN, SUN today. It’s reaching 78 degrees. (Meltdown #2)

I can’t wait to dethaw in the sun. I’ve been looking forward to this all winter.

Pictures from yesterday:

Jennica and Auntie Jess.
Jen LOVES her! These two are more alike than Jen and I are. I think Jen really belongs to her.

Surprise vacation Destination

The Hobi Hobbit is so kind to us!

Yesterday we picked the kids up from school and drove in anticipation to the airport.

That Hobi Hobbit really knows how to plan.

He allowed enough time for us to get through traffic, park the car, forget a phone, return to the car, get through security, and onto the plane, with no time to spare.

Our typical Airport experience involves breaking traffic laws, running, running, cutting in line, and begging the Check-in worker to push us through, and entering the airplane with all eyeballs annoyingly watching and audible moans from passengers when three small kids plop down in the general vicinity.

Our tickets revealed our destination was Long Beach California!!

It was a LONG flight but the kids were troopers. We had no idea what we were going to do once we landed. It was 1 am at home and we were ready for some sleep!

On the runway we all looked at each other and and basically said: “Now what?”

As we were leaving the airplane a Stewardess handed Jarom a yellow envelope addressed to the “Hobi Kids.”

He was so excited! It was another note from the Hobi Hobbit!

It read something along the lines of rent a “Magical” car. It must be a “Magical” car to get us to our final destination.

Sam took Jarom and Jen in search of a “Magical” car while I gathered our luggage.

They found the perfect car. It talked to us and told us right where to go! The kids were beside themselves trying to figure out where we were going.

The clue also told us balloons would be at our destination. We drove for about 45min into a town called San Clemente.

The balloons were spotted in a sleeping neighborhood, and another note retrieved. It directed us to a house with instructions to knock three times and we would be greeted with love.

Jarom and Jace were more than eager to run to the door. Jennica on the other hand reacted differently.
“Oh no!” She said. “I’m not going in there! What if it’s a scary Hobi Hobbit?“

We didn’t know who, or what would be waiting for us. By now it was 4:00am our time (and the kids were still in good spirits!!)

The anticipation was so exciting. We stood on the wet, front porch jumping, squirming, and giggling as we knocked three times.

We heard the door unlock and ever so slowly we were reunited to.....

AUNTIE JESS and UNCLE PETE in their new home!!!

The kids were pleasantly surprised. How did the Hobi Hobbit get them involved?
(Auntie Jess said she received a note from the Hobi Hobbit telling her she was getting visitors that would knock three times.)

The Magic never stops! (apparently doesn’t sleep either)

Note: All the Hobi Hobbit notes are detailed poems-I’m not posting them now. I’ll add them later.
